A look at freshly made Sandown Vertipools

Sandown Vertipool installed and welcoming life

At 320mm across the back, 150mm top to tip, 210mm out from the wall at its furthest, and holding approx 1.5ltrs of intertidal seawater, the Sandown model packs a mighty ecological punch for its diminutive size. Like its’ big brother the ‘Bouldnor’ the ‘Sandown’ features rich exterior texture and complex contoured interior basin detail. It’s the ‘unique to Artecology’ sculptural aspect that increases habitable surface area and provides lots of perfect nooks and crannies for marine life to shelter amongst and thrives on. Sandown model Vertipools work well in clustered arrays by taking advantage of a phenomenon we call the ‘Halo Effect’, i.e. two units produce more ecological gains when placed close together than they do when set apart….three better still, four better than three and so on! As standard this model has three point fixing bracket made from ‘cast-in’ A4-316 marine grade stainless steel with 20mm holes to take an M16 bolt or threaded bar.

Did you know? The Halo Effect is a current subject of study at the European MARINEFF academic research project. The project involves over a hundred ‘MARINEFF’ model Vertipools, these pools are a simplified ‘controllable/studiable’ version of our Sandown model.

Price per unit: £350 ex VAT & shipping

We recommend the use A4-316 stainless steel fixings. Note: Because of varying contractor preferences on installation techniques we no longer supply fixings.
