BioTotem™
A living way-marker system made from sustainably sourced oak. Beautifully designed in above-ground pollinator bee habitat and below-ground beetle habitat. Can also include fern/plant pockets by request. Features hand-pyrographed graphic artwork. Suitable for parks, gardens, public footpaths, housing estates, industrial parks, etc. Each BioTotem™ is handmade and incorporates a minimum of 150 holes for a variety of native solitary bee species to nest in. Hand-burned (pyrography) invertebrate icons are a striking feature. Currently, you can choose from dragonflies, bees, water scorpions, wasps, stag beetle, centipede, hawk moth, butterfly, spiders, and cream spot tiger moths. BioTotems should be dug into the ground no less than 50cm deep. Wherever possible do not concrete them in, earth should be compacted around the base with a hand rammer. Note: BioTotems work for wildlife below ground as well as above ground!
